    James M. Maragos

    Dr. Maragos received his D.D.S. from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1981. He was then accepted into a one-year general dentistry residency at Loyola Hospital, where he learned advanced techniques in treating medically compromised patients and the use of sedation medications to relax the patient. He taught at both the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and Loyola School of Dentistry from 1982-1988, while practicing as an associate in dental offices in Oak Lawn and Chicago. In 1987, he took over the practice of Dr. Don Ourada, D.D.S., and then established his own private practice in LaGrange, Illinois.


    Achievements:

    Dr. Maragos has earned a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.

    From 2002-2011, Dr. Maragos has been recognized by the Illinois State Dental Society and the Illinois Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped for his volunteer work with the Dental Donation Services (DDS), a humanitarian service to disabled, elderly and medically-compromised people. He has also volunteered his services doing missions both here in the U.S. and in Honduras.

    Community Involvement:

    Dr. Maragos’ commitment to his community parallels his commitment to his profession. In 2007, he was elected to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Village of Western Springs. He also served as vice president of the Kiwanis Club of Western Springs and has chaired numerous fundraisers for the organization over the past five years. Dr. Maragos is a member of the church choir at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Westchester, IL. He is currently an officer of the Parish Council.

    Dental Hygienist

    Julie graduated from Prairie State College Dental Hygiene School in 1992 and completed the University of Illinois Chicago’s local anesthetic course in 2011. She has been working with Dr. Maragos since March of 2010.Julie’s favorite thing about working here: I enjoy my patients and work well with my co-workers. Dr. Maragos is good with patient education and keeps his staff up-to-date with new technology and current procedures.

  • Virginia
    Dental Assistant

    Virginia was born in Lithuania where she received a degree in Business Management in 1998.  In 2002, she came to the United States and studied English at Moraine Valley College until 2006.  Virginia has been a dental assistant for 9 years and completed a coronal polishing and dental sealant course in 2010.  She is fluent in Russian and Lithuanian.

    Virginia’s favorite thing about working here: helping people.
